Anımsa — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
In short: Anımsa has no accounts. We never ask for your
name, e-mail or phone number. Your reminders live on your phone. The sentence
you type is sent to our server only to be interpreted and is not
stored there. Your calendar never leaves your device.
1. Who we are
Anımsa is published by an independent developer.

2. What we process
Reminder text
To turn a sentence such as "dentist tomorrow at three" into a date and time,
we send it to our server (api.animsa.tolkriv.site) and from there
to Google's Gemini model. The only things sent alongside it are your
time zone, your device's current local date and time, and the name of
the day — all needed to work out which day "tomorrow" is.
If the model asks a follow-up question ("at what time?"), the last few turns
of that short exchange are included to preserve context.
The text is not stored or logged on our server. It is
discarded as soon as the request is answered. Our Gemini access is on a paid
tier; under Google's terms, paid-tier input and output are not used to train
models.
Reminders you add or edit by hand never reach the server at all — those
screens do not call the model.
Device identifier
On first launch the app generates a random number, stores it on your phone
and attaches it to parsing requests. We use it solely to enforce a
daily request limit (to cap cost). It is not your phone's
hardware identifier, it is not linked to your identity, and it disappears when
you uninstall the app.
Your calendar
If you grant permission, we only read your device's calendar
events so they can appear in the same list as your reminders. We never write to
or delete anything in your calendar.
Calendar data never leaves your device: it is not sent to
our server, to the parsing model, or anywhere else. You can revoke the
permission at any time in system settings.
Your reminders
Reminders you create are kept in a database on your phone. If you
have not turned sync on, we hold no copy. On Android, if device backup
is enabled, this database may be included in your Google account backup; that
backup is under Google's control.
Account and sync (optional)
The app works without an account, and every feature is available without
signing in. Only if you turn on cross-device sync under Settings →
Sync is an account created, and from that point on:
- You sign in with Google or Apple. Firebase Authentication then holds your
email address, your display name if provided, and a
user identifier. (If you choose "Hide My Email" with Apple,
Apple does not give us your real address.)
- Your reminders themselves — title, note, time, repeat
rule, place and tags — are stored in our database so they can be synced
between your devices.
- A random device identifier is kept so we can tell which device a change
came from.
This data is reachable only with your own session; records are tied to your
account identifier. Turning sync off stops further changes from being sent. You
can permanently delete your account and every reminder on the server from
inside the app: Settings → Sync → Delete account and data.
Advertising
The app shows a single bottom banner through Google AdMob, which uses your
device's advertising identifier for this purpose.
- In the EU and the UK, Google's consent screen is shown for ad
personalisation; you can change your choice under
Settings → Ad preferences in the app.
- On iOS the system tracking permission prompt is also shown. If you choose
"Ask App Not to Track", the app works exactly the same and ads are not
personalised.
Usage and crash data
We measure crashes and which screens are used via Firebase Crashlytics and
Firebase Analytics. The text of your reminders is not included in these
measurements. You can turn this off under Settings → Crash and
usage reports.
Notifications
Reminder notifications are scheduled entirely on your phone; nothing is sent
to a server for them. The app also subscribes to a channel for announcements
about new features. You can turn announcements off under
Settings → Announcement notifications without affecting your
reminders.
3. Purposes and legal bases
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis |
| Reminder text | Convert a sentence into a date and time | Performance of a contract — the service you asked for |
| Device identifier | Daily request limit, abuse prevention | Legitimate interest |
| Calendar (on device) | Show events in your list | Consent (permission prompt) |
| Advertising identifier | Serve and measure ads | Consent (consent prompts) |
| Crash / usage | Find bugs, improve the app | Consent (can be switched off in settings) |
| Account details (email, name, user id) | Identify the user who turned sync on | Performance of a contract — the sync service you asked for |
| Your reminders (when sync is on) | Keep devices in step | Performance of a contract — the sync service you asked for |
4. International transfers
The services we rely on run on servers outside Türkiye:
- Google (Gemini, Firebase, AdMob) — parsing, measurement,
notifications and advertising.
- Netlify — the server that handles parsing and sync
requests.
- Neon — the database holding your reminders while sync is
on.
The data listed in section 2 is therefore transferred abroad. If you do not
accept this, please do not use the parsing feature — you can still add reminders
manually, which never contacts the server.
5. Retention
- Text sent for parsing: not stored on the server.
- Your reminders while sync is on: kept on the server until
you delete them or close your account. When you delete a reminder its content
is removed immediately; only a "this record was deleted" marker remains, and
that marker is cleared after at most 90 days once your other devices have
seen it.
- Your account details: until you delete your account.
- Daily request counter: a number kept per device
identifier, reset every day.
- Your reminders and calendar preferences: kept on your
phone until you delete them or uninstall the app.
- Crash and usage data: retained for the periods Google
defines for Firebase.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask whether your
personal data is processed, to obtain a copy, to have inaccurate data corrected,
to have data deleted, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent.
If you have not turned sync on, we hold no record that could identify you:
uninstalling the app deletes everything kept on your device.
If you have turned sync on, you can exercise your right to erasure in one
step from inside the app: Settings → Sync → Delete account and
data. It permanently deletes every reminder on the server, your account,
and the copy on this device. For any request, write to
dogukanka95@gmail.com.
7. Children's privacy
Anımsa is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from
them.
8. Changes
This policy may be updated. If it is, the "last updated" date on this page
changes; for significant changes we will also announce it in the app.
